Photolettering Inc type catalogue

192

From the 1930s onwards, phototitling found its place in a number of specialized typesetting workshops. In 1936, Edward Rondthaler founded Photolettering Inc. in New York. One of the ‘advantages’ of photolettering was the ease with which letterforms could be optically distorted. Much later, in 1971 (1969?), Edward Rondthaler helped found the International Typeface Corporation.  Photolettering Inc went out of busines in 1997. In 2003, House Industries announced their purchase of Photolettering Inc’s physical inventory and assets.
