Yusaku Kamekura, was born in 1915. He is known as the pioneer of Japanese graphic design. His works have had a lasting cultural impact on design in Japan and abroad. One of his works is Tokyo 1964 Olympics poster. Its design is cultural and simple, containing the red circles found in the Japanese flag which represents the rising sun of Japan.
