Shigeo Fukuda, a Japanese graphic designer born in 1932, is the first Japanese designer to be inducted into the Art Directors Club Hall of Fame in New York. All of his works include activism. An example would be the "Earth Day Poster", which criticizes deforestation by depicting a black axe on a red background. This symbolizes the damage to nature caused by humans.
