EXPO’ 70

The first logo of EXPO'70 was designed by Isao Nishijima. However, Taizo Ishizaka, chairman of the Expo Association claimed "The logo would receive criticism that Japan is flattering itself (by making the circle at the top look like the Japanese flag). A second nomination competition was held, and Takeshi Otaka's design was selected.
