Food Lion is a regional grocery store chain in the Mid-Atlantic and Southeastern area of the United States. The mascot featured in this logo, George the Food Lion, was introduced in 1983. Since then, the design has not been altered besides minor color updates. The lion design was carried over from the chain’s parent company, Delhaize.
