Kodak Darkroom Dataguide

1

The Kodak Darkroom Dataguide (1974) by Eastman Kodak Company is an in-depth reference guide for black-and-white processing and printing. The guide is designed to answer questions on the chemicals used, the time it takes to develop the film, and the type of paper and equipment needed in the darkroom. It is for the beginner as well as the professional.

This guide is the 5th edition, printed in the United States by Eastman Kodak’s Professional and Finishing Markets Division. The design is illustration and type. The colors, images and style are elements of their time. The illustration is a top-view showing the blend of chemicals in a swirl of yellows and browns. The yellow used is the same used for the logo. The chemicals are shown inside of a measuring pitcher defined by a silver round thick border and measuring spoon. The Kodak logo shown is after it went through a major revision (1971) with the standard colors of red and yellow, sans-serif font, and the stylized K inside the box shape.
