Sign O’ the Times' is a concert film with theatrical staging, and "live" performances from Prince's 1987 European concert tour. The film was originally planned to be filmed at the end of the tour in Rotterdam, Netherlands & Antwerp, Belgium, but most of the shots were re-shot at Paisley Park Studios in Chanhassen, MN, where they had him lip-sync to fit the original audio recorded in Rotterdam & Antwerp.
