Charles Goslin Graphic Illustration and Design

56

Promotion piece designed by Charles Goslin for his practice. Goslin was an instructor of Graphic Design and Illustration at Pratt Institute from 1966–2007. He was a highly influential instructor having taught over 1,000 students. Goslin began his career working for design pioneer, Lester Beall. After leaving Beall’s office, Goslin set up his one-person studio in Park Slope, Brooklyn.

The graphic was adapted from an invitation Goslin did for a gallery opening in Long Island. The brush stroke near the paintbrush is in the shape of a map of Long Island, NY. The ripped map within the stroke shows the location for the show.
