Clippy, originally “Clippit” was a animated Office Assistant that appeared in Microsofts Office 97'. The Assistant would assist the user with using the search engine and formatting writing.

This relates to Motion Graphics in that they took animations or animated graphics and attempted to use them to help people better understand instruction or assist people in using computer software. Rather than just a video, they remained in the software and were available exclusively to help with the different components of the software. The creators thought that animations would make a more personal way to connect to the user. The agents even though they were discontinued remain apart of pop culture today in memes and television shows.
