Mahnoush Moshiri was born in 1949 in Shah Abad-e Gharb, Iran. Her father used to publish Shahnameh-ye Rouz newspaper in 1949-1955, which was a socio-political publication. Moshiri started her studies in  painting at Tehran University, but after a while she joined the graphic design department. While a student, she was employed at the National  Radio and Television and was an illustrator for Tamasha Magazine Studio. She has been a graphic designer, art director and illustrator for many magazines, including Tamasha, Shir va Khorshid, Soroush Children, Soroush Teens, Baran, Farda, Culture and Art Theater, and Agahan, and has designed the covers of more than a hundred books for different publishers. She has written books for children and teenagers such as I Become a Butterfly, Golden Dot, Miss Butterfly the Poet, and The Guests Arrive. Along with teaching at Iranian art universities, Moshiri presents her lectures and articles at national and international conferences. She has been a  judge for various festivals in the fields of literature, poetry, fiction, illustration and graphic design.

مهنوش مشیری در سال ۱۳۲۸ در شاه آباد غرب ,ایران متولد شد. او پس از تحصیل در رشته ی گرافیک در آتلیه مجله ی تماشا مشغول به کار شد. مشیری طراح  گرافیک , مدیر هنری و تصویرگر مجلات متعددی از جمله  تماشا، شیر و خورشید, سروش کودکان، سروش نوجوان، باران، فردا, تئاتر فرهنگ و هنر و آگاهان بوده و طراحی روی جلد بیش از صد کتاب برای ناشران مختلف را به انجام رسانده. او کتاب های پروانه می شوم، نقطه ی طلایی، پروانه خانم شاعر، و میهمان ها از راه می رسند را برای کودکان و نوجوان  نوشته است. مشیری همراه  تدریس در دانشگاه‌های هنر ایران در سمینارهای داخلی و خارجی  سخنرانی و مقالات خود را ارائه می دهد. و همچنین داور جشنواره های مختلف در رشته های ادبیات، شعر، داستان، تصویرگری و گرافیک می باشد .
