Michael Jordan McDonald's "It'll Be Sweet 2 Repeat" Pin Button

This is a pin button by McDonald's of Michael Jordan. The pin button features Jordan sitting on a basketball with the words “It'll  Be Sweet 2 Repeat” placed beside him. Jordan and the text are placed on top of a yellow chalky-like background, giving the imagery a sketchy yet defined look. The pin button was to support the idea of the Chicago Bulls winning the championship for a second time after winning the previous championship in 1991. Pin buttons like this were used as a form of uniquely expressing ones ideas, views, support, or interests. Before the age of social media, pin buttons was the “tool” people used to express themselves. The innovation of the pin button is related to the advancement of technology that happened at the end of the 19th century. Due to the advancement of metal stamping and commercial printing, the cost of manufacturing these pins dramatically decreased. Later around that time came the production of celluloid, a transparent and thin sheet, which was used to protect the paper that the design was printed on.  As a result, pin buttons were now affordable for both the manufacturer and the public.
