The Wii game ‘Wipeout: The Game,’ released in 2010, is based on the hit ABC series called Wipeout.
The cover of the case features scenes from gameplay and the type is bold and dynamic, jumping out at the viewer. The back of the case also puts an emphasis on the typography, with big, bold action words that seem to leap off of the case.
Inside of the case is a 9-page booklet that describes the controls and tells the user how the game is played. The cover of the booklet matches the case exactly while the inside of the booklet is in black and white. Unlinke many other video game packaging booklets from this time period, the booklet does not feature any imagery. Instead the booklet focuses on the type, providing a clear hierarchy throughout.
The disc remains consistent with the blue-white color scheme seen across the packagin and once again utilizes the type in a way that grabs the attention of the viewer.
