Heineken Beer Coaster
Heineken produced beer coasters in Germany during the 1970’s as a functional advertisement to be placed in bars, pubs, and restaurants all over Europe. It would be used as both a coaster and a bierdeckel. A bierdeckel is a term used for something that covers to top of your drink to prevent debris and bugs from falling in. On the coaster it says “bier” which simply translates to “beer” in English. It is made of cardboard and has two color print on both the front and the back. It was meant to be a single use product but now serves as a collectable item for those who are fans of beer culture.
