Air Jordan from Nike Poster

This was a poster made as a promotional peice for Nike's Air Jordan brand. The poster features a tinted black and white image of Michael Jordan soaring over Spike Lee who is pictured standing on the Earth. The poster also features mathematical-like line work that are mostly circular in form.  Pictured below Michael Jordan is a statemnent rounded in form  that says ," Michael Jordan has overcome the acceleration of gravity by the application of his muscle power in the vertical plane, thus producing a low altitude earth orbit." This was an ode to the years of Michael Jordan's incredible hang time when dunking. This poster is an important peice of work; its design perhaps, take inspiration from the poster designs of one of graphic designs very influential designers, Herbert Matter. Herbert Matter is known for  using photomontage in his advertising posters, which was groundbreaking in commercial art.
