This is a 1999 basketball of Michael Jordan on the Bulls. The front of the card has a large image of Michael Jordan with holographic gold shining type stating his name and the years tracked on the card. The back of the card has a smaller image of Michael Jordan, type describing his career and a chart with his stats. There are elements of gold type throughout the card and sharp geometrical shapes and lines contrasting the sleek and curvilinear type. The card is important for Graphic design because there is a large gap in understanding between sports and design. Outside of a team’s logo, sports fans often held little care for design. Sports cards such as this one symbolizes a connection between sports fans and design fans. The cards sleek design with red black and gold elements made it look more desirable and elevated the quality of design to the quality of the player on the card.
