Tab is a Diet Coke drink that hit the market before Diet Coke was invented. The name Tab was chosen for its short name to fit well on a skinny bottle that represents the “slimming” terminology of diet soda. This was a part of the magazine article Post and was a part of of a movement from the original Coca-Cola drink to a more healthy option.
