Rice Council of America “David & Goliath” Advertisement

9

Part of an ad campaign by the Rice Council of America encouraging choosing rice over potatoes. It plays on the Bible story of a young boy, David, fighting the enemy giant, Goliath. It features their slogan, “Switch from routine to rice”. At the bottom they show a context of the product by placing a cut out image of steak with rice on the side instead of potatoes. This ad was found in the March 1, 1968 issue of Life Magazine.  It uses big and bold display type that pairs with the image to catch the reader's attention.
