Vintage Simplicity Sewing Pattern

10

This is sewing pattern 5556 from Simplicity in 1973 for a women's dress and pants.  The sewing pattern displays sans serif typeface and a strictly implied grid on the size chart. This sewing pattern would have been one dollar in the 70s but is now selling for $22. This pattern displays a unique illustration that eventually moved to becoming photography based. Sewing patterns were a piece of mass produce graphic design appealing to women and teens of the 70s that have now been reduced to collectors items. In this specific sewing pattern, there is a dual use of illustration and photography displaying the shift from illustration in mass produced publications of the time
