1980s Vintage Coca-Cola Tin Tray

8

This is a vintage 1989 drink Coca-Cola delicious and refreshing small serving tin tray. The shape of the tray is very organic, with red trimming. The advertisement features an illustration of a woman holding a glass of Coca-Cola with the Coca-Cola motto, “Delicious and Refreshing,” besides the subject. Almost a drop shadow outlines the female figure, showing how illustration techniques have changed and improved. The tray was made in Hong Kong, China.

This is important to graphic design history because you can’t buy Coca-Cola tin trays in-store. They are collectibles now. They are rare finds that need to be documented in the record. Coca-Cola is a company known for the evolution of its logo, so this is a good representation of the growth of its advertisement.
