Burt Bacharach: Reach Out Vinyl Record Sleeve

8

This vinyl record cover features jazz artist Burt Bacharach, who composed, wrote, arranged and produced it all. This easy-listening jazz album was designed by Peter Whorf, utilizing photographs taken by Jim McCrary.  Jim McCrary is an American award winning photographer that has shot countless other album covers for A&M records.  Burt Bacharach is pictured on a broken film roll, displayed in an array over the cover. Similarly, Peter Whorf often designed for A&M records.

On the flipside, the information about the record is presented in a tilted composition.  It displays lyrics from the tracks, and a description of the artist. All of this is centered around a large portrait of Bacharach, that appears to be torn on the edges. Photography is accentuated by the typography choices made here. Negative space is a prominent feature on the back of the record.
