Japanese graphic design, underwent a number of changes between the end of World War I in 1918 and the start of the Pacific War in 1941. These changes were characterized by growing Western influence, a growing middle class, industrialization and militarization, as well as (at first) left-wing political ideals and (later) right-wing nationalism and the influence of European Fascist art forms.
