Eiichi Ohtaki “A Long Vacation” Album Cover
This is a music album by Japanese singer-songwriter Eiichi Ohtaki (大滝詠一) released in 1981. This album is one of the masterpieces of 80s Japanese City Pop music. The cover art was designed by Hiroshi Nagai (永井博) (1947-), an illustrator and graphic designer. The artwork of the pool at the resort, fresh and sophisticated, represents the booming economy and people's vitality in Japan at that time. Many musicians and designers were influenced by this artwork in the 80s Japanese culture. Nagai was influenced by the US townscape and Guam. So many of his themes are resort. He designed many posters and album artwork by now.
