Sculptor, medallist, graphic artist and poster designer, Shigeo Fukuda designed this poster for The Montreux Jazz Festival 1985.

The Montreux Jazz Festival, first held at Montreux Casino, opened on 18 June 1967 and was founded by Claude Nobs, Géo Voumard and René Langel with considerable help from Ahmet and Nesuhi Ertegun of Atlantic Records.

The piece represents a large treble cleff surrounded by speech bubbles which describe the nature of Jazz.
