Oliver Payne and Keiichi Tanaami have created a collection of collaborative works that depict a universe inhabited by Japanese idols, monsters, and ancient gods, surrounded by symbols from popular Japanese "bullet hell" arcade games. The stickers in Tanaami's work act as a veil of diverse and distracting elements, similar to the multicolored curtains in a classic arcade game.  As a result, the observer's gaze must navigate through each image, trying to make sense of the apparently random assortment of missiles, bombs, and other forms of violent attack.
