After the discovery of woodblocks used to print a book of patterns by Hokusai called "Hokusai Moyo Gafu - Shingata Komon-cho (Hokusai Design Sketchbook - Album of New Format of Fine Patterns)" at the Boston Museum of Fine Arts, Awazu Kiyoshi unveiled a series of nine woodcut prints the following year.
