The Good Cook: Snacks & Sandwiches

11

This cookbook, published by Time-Life Books in 1980, features snack and sandwich recipes by The Good Cook. It is part of a series of cookbooks by Time-Life Books highlighting recipes for every type of food or meal. Designed by Ellen Robling, the cover of this cookbook is fairly simple. However, the typeface used in the title features swashes, a very common feature in typefaces such as Caslon, Garamond, and Baskerville from the late 1600s and early 1700s. The inside of the cookbook follows very strong grid systems, popular in Swiss Style, or International Typographic Style design and the works of Joseph Muller-Brockmann of the 1950s and 60s.
