Dixie Yard Company Tarot Card

David Palladini, American illustrator and designer was renowned for his illustrative style seen on Tarot decks, books, and magazines. His artistic style has indications of Art Deco and Art Nouveau stylistic traditions. Showcased in American Fabrics Magazine (Issue 98 Fall 1973) Palladini’s Dixie Triumph card. Dixie Yard company promoted their textiles which implemented “highly personalized lyricism and angularity, linear surprise and rich colorization”, those of which had stylistic contributions to Art Deco and Art Nouveau. Hence, Dixie hired Pallidini to make the dixie triumph card showcasing the stylized tarot card associated with Pallidint while implementing the new Art Deco and Art nouveau textiles of Dixie Yarn company.
