A Souvenir of New York: The Wonder City
A souvenir doubling as a postcard, which includes 20 assorted photographs showcasing views of New York City from the 1930s-1940s. This would have been packaged up and sent in the mail, including all 20 photographs for the recipient to enjoy. Written on the sides of the packaging are “A Product of D.R. & Co. N.Y.C.” and “Having A Wonderful Time Here.” It is unclear exactly what year this was produced, but the photographed architecture seems to be from the 1930s. One photo, in particular, showcases Times Square and pictures large paper advertisements (instead of the multitude of screens that we know today). Other photos featured include the Chrysler Building, The Statue of Liberty, and The New York Public Library.
