This poster is composed of a striking design of the Japanese flag representing the sunrise and the five Olympic rings. The Tokyo Olympics was the first Olympic Games to be held in Asia. Nippon Design Center was involved in the production of the logo, posters, admission tickets and competition pictograms to create the overall visual identity for the international environment of the Games. This poster was produced by photographic plate making using multiple colors, highlighting the skills of the Japanese printing industry.
