"The first publication to come out of the Print Co-op was this issue of Radical America. It is proceedings from that year’s Socialist Scholars Conference. The person in the cover image might be Czech Marxist philosopher Karl Kautsky. Inside, there is a one-page ad for Black & Red that is critical of “Marxist scholars.” It shows a portrait of Karl Marx with his eyes covered (like the cover photo), with text that reads, “If you regard the theoretical attitude as the only genuinely human attitude ... don’t read B & R.” Text at the bottom of the ad quotes Marx: “The philo-sphers have only interpreted the world in various ways, the point, however is to change it.”"
