This is a newspaper advertisement (in The Charlotte Observer) for Astor Theatre's opening, which was built in 1945 and opened on March 1, 1948. It was operated as an African-American theatre. In the 60s, the theatre showed x-rated movies and became the Astor Art Theatre on May 1, 1964.
