Beautiful Women of the Pleasure Quarter: Tachibana /当世遊里美人合 たち花
Torii Kiyonaga is a pupil of Torii Kiyomitsu and headed the Torii school. He is one of the important artists designing beautiful women in the 1780s. This artwork represents his style of portraying beautiful women; who bring eight or nine heads tall and have great figures. They have thick eyebrows and long-slotted eyes. The concept of beauty in later Edo has a commonality with the one today.
