Isoda Koryusai painted nishiki-e, a multi-colored woodblock artwork in the Edo period. He used to follow the way of depicting young women established by Suzuki Harunobu but later he established his own style.  Young women depicted by Isoda have plumped bodies. The hairstyle of the young woman in this artwork called Torobin, with inflated hair at the sides is popular and his artwork became the symbol of the hairstyle.
