Eyitayo Tolulope Ijisakin is an art historian and artist who offered the first comprehensive study of printmaking in his country. Receiving his PhD from Ghana he then incorporated the ideology of identity and individualism in his works. His piece African Bride (2007) uses symbolism through coloristic language to represent the Yoruba conceptions and the expected role that women play in marriage.
