The Guardian Legend (1988) is an adventure/shoot-em-up style sci-fi video game for the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES), developed by Compile.

Naoyuki Kato illustrated the Japanese box art. He is most known for his work in the science fiction genre. He, alongside Studio Nue, worked on Space Battleship Yamato, Macross, and Legend of the Galactic Heroes, among other projects.
