Charlie and Lola are a series of children's books written in 2000 by Lauren Child. This is the first book of the series, currently there being about 40, the last being released in 2018. This book won the “Greenway Medal” in 2000 for the illustrations, and the “California Young Reader Medal” in 2003.
The quirky, simple illustrations are infamous amongst kids, young adults, and parents, the style and cover design being very memorable for its charming look.
