Alcatraz Island Postcard

1

A postcard depicting Alcatraz Island, the location of the US Penitentiary Alcatraz (ca. 1950). During the time the federal prison was active (1934-1963), escapees would head for the western shoreline where they would launch themselves toward San Francisco's lights.

This postcard is a part of the Golden Gate National Park's Conservancy, a nonprofit organization.
