The idea for this poster was based on a Circus in Peru, Indiana. The Hagenbeck-Wallace Circus was a 20th century circus that traveled across America. This circus was the second-largest American circus next to Ringling Brothers and Barnum and Bailey Circus. The woman performer riding the horse, Helen Hudson, was America’s foremost rider. She was fearless, as she is shown balancing while dancing upon the back of this wild horse.
