Where the Sidewalk Ends

1

"Where the Sidewalk Ends" was created in 1974 by Shel Silverstein. He is responsible for the writing, illustration, and design of this book. The book has been banned in many schools due to its subject matter, yet is ironically also in the list of “Teacher's Top 100 Books for Children” from a poll by the National Education Association in 2007.

Silverstein's illustrative style and text elements are distinctive and memorable, and well known to people across North America.
