1973 Gamma Phi Circus program (37th annual)

This program was designed for the 37th Annual Gamma Phi Circus at Illinois State University in 1973 in Normal, Illinois. The cover of the program includes an image of a trapeze artist, who divides the composition diagonally to create a dynamic design. 

The colors utilized within the cover include the primary colors (red, blue, yellow) along with black and white. The design of the cover is balanced with two organic blue shapes displaying the information of the event. The trapeze artist matches the colors the draw attention to the fact that this is advertising a circus performance. The red background of the cover is a bold color choice drawing attention to the program. The second page includes a list of Officers for the Gamma Phi Circus and the awardee for the Service Award. 

The third page pays tribute to Dr. Arley Gillett who dedicated his time to the circus. Page four lists the order of performances for the circus event as well as the performers. The fifth page describes the creation of Gamma Phi Circus at ISU and the legacy it has left and will continue to leave. 

The back cover  is a combination of collaged photographs relating to the circus. These photographs are in black and white, and include a variety of events and circus performances. The red and blue color palette is continued throughout, using organic shapes to highlight and frame important information. The type for this program is simple and easy to read.
