Exide were one of the largest advertisers on British road transport.
These advertisements used the medium of posters on iconic British double-decker buses throughout the 1950s and 60s. These posters were located on the front, sides and lower rear position of the bus, the latter in the direct eyeline of following car drivers.
The posters were kept to simple branding without complicated messages.
The Exide brand was such a familiar sight to all other road users, and became the best known of all battery manufacturers. Use of the Exide logo even extended to toy model buses of the period that have now become collectors items.
