Handicapped by Duncan Grant

1

This poster was created by Duncan Grant in the 1900s and collected by the Cambridge University Library . It was created to address how women should have the right to vote. It shows a man in a boat being pulled along easily by his “votes” sail, while a woman rows against the tide unable to keep up.  The majority of people in the UK at the time were against the idea of women having a right to vote and women themselves didn't know how  much of a difference their vote can make.
