Designed by Otl Aicher for the 1972 Summer Olympics in Munich. The official poster was meant to promote not one specific sports event, but the whole of the Munich Games. Depicting modern architecture and the colors were supposed to appear “simple and pure”. Aicher created the visual identity for the games, using simple design with little to no text.
