The Third annual Labor day Picnic
Established in the golden age of radio, WBT began operating in 1920 by Fred Laxton, Earle Gluck, and Fred Bunker. The early days of WBT featured different types of programs ranging from story time for children, live orchestra, Sunday worship, and more. With the golden age of radio coming to an end with the rise of television, WBT launched WBTV in 1949 in order to stay relevant in the entertainment industry. Throughout the years the radio station changed ownership, but that did not stop WBT radio station from growing. The radio station is still broadcasting daily local news today.
