This graphic archive is from a gender studies conference in 1989. The conference took place in Charlotte, N.C., and the issue was sponsored by International Women's Day Council and the North Carolina Humanities Council. The issue itself  highlights the profiles of women lost in history and showcases the discrimination against women throughout generations.
