This scientific illustration of the extinct marsupial the Thylacine comes from Atlas de Zoologie, written  by Paul Gervais (1816-1879) and illustrated by Pretre Pinx. Gervais was a French paleontologist and entomologist. Pinx was a Swiss-French artist that focused on illustrating natural history. He created lithographs and freehand drawings that appeared in many different scientific books.
