Sunlight Soap Makes Washing Fun

4

Promotional magazine ad for Sunlight Soap. The ad was issued by the Lever Brothers in the 1920s. The front includes an illustration of a boy waving his arms, wearing a large, white shirt chasing a dog. A red haired woman, who likely represents his mother, is in a red blouse and white apron hanging up a large basket of washing on a line. There is a double block of Sunlight Soap between the basket and the boy.  The firm, based in Port Sunlight, originally arrived in the world of detergents in northern England in 1884 with their Sunlight Soap and are now part of the international commercial giant, Unilever.
