Greetings from America stamps

The "Greetings From America" series of stamps celebrated every state with typographic greetings and symbolism from every state: birds, flowers, landmarks. "Greetings from..." is reminiscent of postcards printed in the 1940s and sent by tourists to celebrate their travels. A press release from the USPS dated February 2002, describes a partnership with the Travel Industry Association of America (SeeAmerica.org) and a sweepstakes with travel prizes to each state, just in time for National Card and Letter Writing Month celebrations.
