Forest

Forest is a poster designed by Japanese graphic designer Ryuichi Yamashiro in 1954. The picture mainly uses many Chinese characters of different sizes, such as 木,林 and 森, which are combined to look like a forest. His works often emphasize typography and visual composition. MoMA also collected this work and listed it as a silkscreen poster in 1954.

Explanation text is not only used for reading, but also can directly become a part of the image. It is also a good example of using Chinese characters for visual design in Japanese graphic design.
