“The mind is an interpreter that translates strength into ideas that move forward.” This quote comes from the poem El hombre y mi alma by Puerto Rican poet Julia de Burgos. Its inclusion connects the visual representation of Burgos with her literary work. Rather than simply portraying the poet, the designer incorporates her words as a central visual element, creating a connection between poetry, Puerto Rican cultural identity, and graphic design. The piece demonstrates how graphic design can preserve and reinterpret cultural and literary history through contemporary visual language.
